Rooma Vijaya Nuthalapati is an Audio Software Engineer currently working at Qualcomm. She is an enthusiast in Immersive Audio Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Speech Recognition and Processing for Multimedia, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning. With over 4 years of relevant experience, Rooma has a strong background in C-based HMD Calibration/Testing library, scaling the framework and subsidiary tools, developing new Controller geometry, and working on XML implementation and optimization in CSIM. She has also worked on scaling up the signal processing in the Controller processing library for future Controller geometry, providing Python scripts for CSR controller firmware validation, and providing Controller Flash Support by generating different transmitting signal configuration for the controllers. Rooma has also worked on Multi-User Support for the Controller and has experience in KPI-accuracy, precision calculations, log collection, and documentation. Prior to Qualcomm, she was a Project Intern at Astra Microwave, where she designed a programmable digital filter for Infrared and Video Frequencies for Frequency Modulation Demodulator with variable filter coefficients and implemented digital demodulation techniques within a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) using XILINX and MATLAB. Rooma holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from M.V.S.R Engineering College, Osmania University. She is also currently pursuing a Post Graduate Program in Data Science and Business Analytics from The University of Texas at Austin. Rooma's technical skills include Software Engineering, NLP, ML, and Python. She is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for audio signal processing and a strong desire to learn and grow in her field.
